FEEDING THERAPY
At Speech Jungle, we believe that mealtimes should be a positive and enjoyable experience for children and their families! Feeding challenges can make everyday meals stressful, whether your child is hesitant to try new foods, has difficulty with certain textures, or needs additional support developing chewing and drinking skills.
Our feeding therapy services are designed to meet each child where they are by incorporating individualized, play-based, and evidence-based strategies that support both sensory exploration and oral motor development. Through fun, hands-on activities, we encourage children to explore new foods, become more comfortable with different tastes and textures, and develop the skills needed for successful eating and drinking.
Our goal is to help children build confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with food while providing families with practical strategies to make mealtimes more enjoyable and less stressful.
Our feeding therapist is trained in the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding, a play-based approach that encourages children to explore foods through activities involving looking, touching, smelling, and tasting without pressure. By incorporating sensory exploration and allowing children to progress at their own pace, this approach helps build confidence, expand food variety, and create more positive and enjoyable mealtime experiences.
